Brookwood is located in south Buckhead right along the border it shares with Midtown. The neighborhood mostly consists of 1920s and 1930s homes with loads of charm and a desirable location that is walkable to restaurants, parks, and the Atlanta BeltLine Northside Trail.
The neighborhood is named after the country estate of a prominent Atlanta hotel owner Joseph Thomspon. “Brookwood” was built in the late 1880s near what is now the Peachtree Road & I-85 interchange.

Tanyard Creek Park is a 14.5 acre park that is popular for runners, bikers, and neighbors that offers playgrounds, picnic tables, and open fields. The Atlanta BeltLine Northside Trail runs through the park and provides easy access to Bobby Jones Golf Course, Bitsy Grant Tennis Center, and Memorial Park.
Bobby Jones Golf Course was the first public golf course in Atlanta and opened in 1932. The newly renovated 9-hole course is home to the Georgia Golf Hall of Fame, the Georgia State Golf Association, and Georgia Section of the PGA of America.
Bitsy Grant Tennis Center was built in 1952 and it is home to Atlanta’s largest tennis center with 28 courts. Players can reserve 13 clay courts, 12 hard courts, and 3 platform tennis courts.
Local favorites surrounding the neighborhood include R. Thomas Deluxe Grill, Tuk Tuk Thai Food Loft, Houston’s, Boone’s at Bobby Jones, and many more. Brookwood is conveniently located close to Publix and The Fresh Market.
The best of Midtown is just a few minutes down Peachtree Street. The Woodruff Arts Center is home to the High Museum of Art, the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra, and the Alliance Theatre. Colony Square completed a $400M redevelopment and the mixed-use development includes Politician Row food hall, JoJo’s Beloved Cocktail Lounge, and Lantana at The Starling.
